Ianto sat on the pavement next to the invisible step, nibbling hungrily at a bag of chips he'd bought a few minutes ago from a stall in the Bay. A chill wind passed him, and he tightened his scarf a bit before returning to his food. Staring at the passers-by was a favourite pastime at this time of night. He was close enough to the invisible lift to be unnoticed himself, so he watched and waited for something to happen. Girls in short skirts, older couples going to a restaurant, single men who looked pretty rough, single women who looked pretty rough: it was somehow relaxing to watch these daily routines of going out, getting drunk, passing out and going home without being involved in them himself. He finished the chips, screwed up the paper bag and regarded his greasy fingers for a moment, before licking them.

Gwen walked past freezing, she did up her jacket and was heading towards the coffee shop down the road. She didnt notice Ianto sitting by the step.

She looked around at all the happy people with there couples smiling with bags of presents...She felt even worse.

She looked down at the piece of paper and her eyes widened. She quickly got up stuffing the piece of paper in her pocket puttin gon her coat and running out of the shop.
"JACK?..."She called everyone staring at her she didnt care she just needed to find him. She looked around and there was no sign of him. She sighed and sat over near the peir over looking the Bay.
